The wooden 'bung' in the anchor chain outlet, is what we call her nose knob! It's since been revarnished and looks very smart.
Marina and Lorna, up front at Hemingford Grey, on a perfect still day. The church seems to be very popular for weddings - you can see why!
The wonderful St Ives bridge, pictured on a hot summer's day. Perfect boating weather, with lots of traffic on the river. The building in the middle of the bridge was originally used as a chapel. The picture was taken from the beer terrace of the Dolphin hotel, popular with boaters.
This shot was taken just upstream of Ely in October.
This photo was taken waiting for the lock on our first real cruise of the 2007 season.
A family of Greylag geese at Hemingford Meadow. We think they look a bit snooty!
Marina went all arty-farty when we moored up for the evening at Houghton. Nice shot!
The slightly overgrown GOBA mooring at Houghton. The evening was marred a little by some of the other boaters tearing around in their tenders at very high speed.
Simon, slaving over a hot barbecue.
The Ouse Valley River Club can be seen on the left hand side. This is a very nice stretch of the river.
Cassie pictured at the landing stage at Eaton Socon lock. This is a bustling area of the river, with a lively pub, marina and lock.
A lull in the traffic at a busy lock
Time for a nice pint of Woodforde's Wherry at the River Mill Inn, Eaton Socon.
The upper reaches of the Gt Ouse, where the flat fenland landscape gives way to a more natural landscape, there are even some hills!
Moored up on the tiny GOBA mooring at Paxford Pits. The name doesn't sound very exotic, but it's a lovely spot, right on the edge of a nature reserve. Nightingales singing all night! We'd like to return to this spot soon, but with only enough space for one boat, that might be difficult.
Relaxing on a surprisingly quiet May Day bank holiday weekend at Paxton Pits.
A typical spring day on the Gt Ouse with the banks in full bloom.
The mooring at Houghton is always a good place for a sunset.
A Cormorant cooling down on a hot day
The landing stage is a long way from the large, deep, Paper Mills lock at St Neots. We forgot to take picture of it, but we'll try to put one on the site next time.
