Springy deck

What a messy job! Dealing with a springy foredeck. A series of holes were drilled through the inner skin of the deck. Expanding polyurethane foam was then injected into each hole. It takes a surprising amount of foam to fill the void. This was allowed to cure then then trimmed flush. We were lucky as we only needed to do two thirds of the deck. I'm pleased to report that the foredeck is now as solid as a rock once more! Getting the under-deck shelf back in was challenging to say the least but we got there in the end.

All lit up

One of the two Perko stern lights, that we've used as cockpit lights, fitted. These are fitted in the side panels about a foot off the floor. They should make for a pleasant atmosphere when we have our evening gin and tonic!

Pretty

She's just waiting for her new carpet, helm seat pedestal and a few other bits and bobs, and we're off!

Posh or what

New upholstery in place at last. Marina's made a fantastic job of laying the carpet. Not an easy job in a Freeman! We've used felt back, polypropylene carpet.

Classy not brassy

Another view of the interior taken from the blunt end. She smells nice and fresh now!

Prophylactic

We practice safe boating! The cover on top of the mast is there to protect the open end until we can find a new mast light, or more likely, refurbish and rechrome the original.

Flying the flag

We thought she could do with a nice new ensign, after all, I spent ages re-varnishing the flag pole!

Luxurious

Another shot of the re-upholstered interior.

Little cutie

She might not be the biggest, but she's as pretty as any of them!

Vanessa stripped

Our Flavel Vanessa cooker with the grill and hob burners stripped out. The grill did a great impression of a flame-thrower and the hob was starting to burn a little on the yellow side.

Bare naked lady

A little bit of rust here and there but nothing terminal. Some of the burner securing screws were corroded so had to be drilled out.

Cleaning

Marina cleaning the burners of corrosion. The grill burner can be seen on the table, nearly all the jets were coked up on this. Hopefully we shall be able to have toast now!

Burners

The left hand burner has been cleaned. You can see the difference.

Scrubbed up

Hob and grill burners cleaned and re-assembled.

Tidy

Vanessa after her pipes have been cleaned of any surface rust and painted with heat resistant enamel.
